Chances for UVA, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, others. Will chance back!

I am thinking about applying to Cornell, UVA, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, George Washington, and NC State

Total Honors: 10
Total AP's: 5

I plan on getting 22 A's and 3 B's throughout high school.

GPA: Unweighted - college style 4.0 max - Weighted

-Freshman : 3.86 3.96 4.14 6 A's 1B
-Sophomore: 3.83 3.95 4.33 5 A's 1B
-Junior: 3.83 3.95 5.0 5A's 1B
-Senior (projected): 4.0 4.0 5.5 6A's

Overall (after junior year): 3.84 3.95 4.47
Overall (projected Senior year): 3.88 3.96 4.72

I plan on applying early

Probably top 10%-15% of class (of 340)

SAT: Based off of my practice tests, I think a 2100 is realistic.
ACT: Haven't taken it yet

EC's:
-33 hours of volunteering (I will have at least 100 by the time I submit my application).
-COO and President of the consumer goods sector of the research committee on the stock market club
-Wrestling: 3-year varsity letter, 3-time All-conference, 3-time all-region, 2-year team captain
-Scholar athlete award (highest GPA on wrestling team)
-Spanish 3 National Spanish Exam honorable mention
-AMC8 (math test) national honor roll. But I don't know if I can use that, it was in 8th grade.

Additional:
-White
-$60,000 yearly household income
-I think my essays should be exceptional
-My recommendations should be above average, but not spectacular
-I have no doubt that I can ace the interview

I live in NC

I don’t know about the other schools, but Cornell seems like a high reach. Your grades are pretty good but it might’ve been nice to see more AP classes. Your ECs are okay but your athletics stuff looks really good. I think if you keep your grades up and get a decent SAT score, you’re probably bound to get into at least two or three of those schools, although Cornell and Carnegie Mellon are less likely.

Your statistics are good and so are your ECs. You should continue that and receive 2100+ on the SAT. After that, you should have a very good chance at all the schools excluding Cornell and Carnegie Mellon - and a good chance at those two.

UVA, Georgia Tech, and NC State should be no problem! Not familiar with admissions requirements for other schools…good luck!

Cornell and Carnegie are far reaches. 100 hours of community service aren’t much. Take more AP classes and fatten your EC resume. I don’t need a chance back since I’m already accepted to my dream school  good luck!

Good luck! Seems great to me! You just might want to get a few more service hours! It’s not too hard, over the summer you could work at a shelter or something and get 100 hours easily(: or after school(:

Cornell- mid/high reach
UVA- reach
Carnegie Mellon-reach
Georgia Tech- match
George Washington- match
NC State- low match

Your EC’s are holding you back but the grades are fantastic. Good luck on the sat’s!

Cornell- high reach
UVA- reach only because out of state
Carnegie Mellon-reach
Georgia Tech- match
George Washington- match
NC State- low match

Ec’s are solid. Grades are fabulous!
Good luck!
