you’re a shoo in for UF. NYU will depend on what school you’re applying too (CAS is in, Tisch depends on film essay and you’re out of Stern) UNC is probably in (Its harder for out of state so it’s not a given) and IDK about Vandy/Duke (I would assume duke will be the toughest of the bunch)

NYU, UNC, UF definitely.
My ex boyfriend went to Vanderbilt. He was second in his class and almost scored perfectly on his SATs, but he didn’t have any EC’s. I think you can get in especially with your great ACT score. Keep the faith. Believe in yourself, and keep your intentions set and you will get there :)

@sloth83 I think you need a LOT more leadership. All schools care about is leadership. Everyone has a 33 ACT that is like a 1900 SAT. You should just become the leader of everything and then you’l automatically get in right b/c leadership is all that matters.

Unweighted Gpa is on the lower side but you defiantly make up for it.
UNC: match but who knows with OOS
NYU: highish match
Duke: reach
UF: high math
Vanderbilt: reach
GOOD LUCK!!!

A student at my school with similar stats got into Vanderbilt EA so I would say it’s a bit of a reach but you have a good shot.
Like others, I would say UNC and NYU are matches for you

UNC, NYU. UF should all be a yes! Your ECs are great, and your ACT is just among the level of applicants accepted for ED1 at Vandy, that being said your GPA make Vandy and Duke low reaches.

UF is your safety. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting into NYU. UNC is a slight reach and Duke and Vandy are high reaches but I think you have a shot if your essays make you stand out. Good luck!

I don’t know first hand how good your Mock trial program is, if it’s good then that’s a plus like if you win your region etc
Your EC’s are focused i think it’s just taht 3.71
I’m not familiar with schools other than NYU Duke

NYU should be around a 60-40 I think you’ll get in it really comes down to their essays/supplements
Duke- I think it’s kind of a reach it’s just a tad lower than ivies which are really unpredictable
best of luck

See if you can retake the ACT before RD comes out if you can hit a 35 superscore that’ll put in you 25 precentile for those schools i think

Amazing ECs and especially amazing recs. I would actually suggest going for even higher schools, if possible. It is completely your choice though. I’d like to conclude that Duke would be rather chance-y. Very few people have all the perfect accomplishments that give a certain admittance to a school like Duke, unlike a school like UF, where you would be certain to get into. Good luck!

I basically agree with everyone else. A high course load and rigor may not make up for the low GPA. I’m not sure, I’m a lowly freshman so I advise to take my advice with a grain of salt.

I can’t say anything that everybody else has already said

Duke: low reach
Vanderbilt: low reach
UNC: match
NYU: high match/low reach
UF: is this university of florida? that would probably be a safety

i’m not 100% familiar with these places, but from what i’ve heard, this is what i’d guess.
comments: you’ve got awesome extra curriculars and a rigorous load. your gpa is a little on the low side, which may hurt you, although i believe colleges prefer people who get worse grades in harder classes. it shows initiative at the very least.

To be honest, I think you’re a shoo in for any of these. a 3.7 with a 33+ is extremely good, especially if you compare to the average high school student. CC has trained everyone to have EXTREMELY high standards. (Which can be interpreted to be positive or negative). EC’s look good also.

Vanderbilt: it’s probably a low match/reach. Same with NYU concerning finances.
UNC: This is a tough one-- low match/reach
NYU: Yes, and apparently the hard part isn’t getting in-- it’s paying for it.
UF: agree w/ everyone, that sounds like a safety!
Duke: no idea; probs a match/reach.

Honestly your weighted GPA sounds good if it’s out of a 10-point scale. Don’t sweat it!
