Chances for Vassar as an ED?

I am a male from Iowa trying to get into Vassar. My gpa is decent. My only crappy test scores are the SAT subject tests. I like to create progressive instrumental music. I write in standard notation (was going to send in an arrangement of Come Together for Jazz Piano). I also like to do mashups by recreating instrumental textures and extracting the vocals from original music with a combination of synths and real instruments (guitars/drums/basses/pianos/cello). Do you think these songs would help in admission?

thank you for your advice

I think you have an excellent chance of beung admitted to Vassar, and yes, they will listen to your tapes. My S was accepted, and his admissions decision letter mentioned his tapes. Later, the director of the orchestra e-mailed him directly. Don't worry about SAT2's. Write good essays! Good luck!

Boys have an amazing chance at Vassar especially going ED.

Definitely a good shot. Obviously no guarantee, but I'd say odds are in your favor. Good luck!

The music will add a considerable advantage to your application. However, I believe that it could go either way. Vassar is a tough school.

being a male from iowa will make you stand out. good luck.

well i have seen some reach schools in my day, but this one really takes the cake. To think that you have the audacity to apply to a top liberal arts school like vassar really makes me question whether i am living in some sort of dream world where people's irrational and ridiculous dreams seem to come true! That aside, I think you have a nice chance! Good Luck my Friend

Do you believe that there is something that I could change that would make a significant difference in my chances? ie. math SAT score, Subjects, etc.?

bump...please give me your advice. Thanks

I think you have a really good shot. Seriously.

SAT II: 760 Math IIC, 690 Bio-E

National Merit Semifinalist

I hope that at least one alright SATII will help with getting me the ED cut. Would it be too gutsy to wait till I found out if I get accepted before doing any other applications?
