<p>Hi, I'm a junior in high school in North Carolina that is planning on applying to Virginia Tech next year for a major in apparel. I would really appreciate any information from you guys. Thanks alot!</p>

<p>I'm in my schools magnet program in the AP Scholar strand and I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and organized a bake sale that profits went to under privileged families within my school community during the holidays. I also participated in a MS Awareness Day in downtown Greensboro, helped run Kids Voting in the November election, and rang the Salvation Army bell and collected money outside of Wal-Mart during the holiday season</p>

<p>your extra curriculars are phenomenal, honestly the only thing that is currently bringing you down would be your SAT scores, i would suggest getting a private tutor for math, although expensive i promise you will see results.</p>

<p>i would also suggest taking the acts many people who dont get the sats as much find the acts much better.</p>

<p>all in all said i feel if you bring up your sat scores virginia tech would be a match</p>

<p>Your GPA and class rank are very good for VT. Your CR and Writing SAT scores are right in the middle of their distribution for last year. Your Math SAT score is the big problem - 96% of the admitted students had a higher score last year. If you can get that math into the mid 500’s, you’ll be in good shape.</p>

<p>Thanks so much for replying. I know my math is horrible and I am taking it in June. I’ve been practicing for the math section and hopefully it will pay off. I really want to go to Virginia Tech and I hope to get my math score up.</p>
