girl we have the exact same stats. I am looking for some info on my chances as well so i’m afraid I can’t help you, but I hope these stats are solid for wellesley!!!
Your test scores are in the middle 50% of admitted students, so at least 25% had test scores lower than yours. And you are in the top 10% of your class as most Wellesley accepted students were. So on paper, you are quite competitive.
I’ve shared this before, but it bears repeating…I recently had a discussion with the Dean of Admissions. She shared that the admissions committee rejects many extremely high-performing applicants because they just weren’t a “fit”…meaning that they didn’t see the student thriving in the Wellesley environment. So as you prepare, be introspective about why Wellesley would be a fit for you and be sure to convey that in your application.
As a backup plan, you might also check out some of the other women’s colleges that have slightly higher admissions rates (e.g. Smith, Mt Holyoke, Bryn Mawr).
I agree - your stats are solid and are very competitive for Wellesley.
I think you might want to talk to someone at Wellesley for advice about how much to stress your “global feminists coalition” as an EC. Spun right, this sounds admirable and may be exactly what they are looking for, but you don’t want to run the risk of appearing too “contrived”. I recall when DD visited Wellesley, at the info session she got the vibe that Wellesley was looking to attract a diverse group of women with all sorts of ideas as to what “feminism” entails. Applicants should avoid trying to appear to be something they aren’t - and while its perfectly okay not to have all the answers at while you are in high school, confidence in yourself is something that most accepted students have in common.
To piggyback off some other responses, make sure to have very specific essays emphasizing not only why you would fit at wellesley but why wellesley would fit for you. Your choices for the two wellesley specific essays will be important to conveying that.
