I'm a white male, I go to a pretty prestigious small private highschool in Tennessee. I've taken an extremely rigorous course load and my unweighted GPA is a 4.65. My APs are:
AP European History - 4
AP Chemistry - 4
AP U.S. History - 4
AP Statistics - haven't taken yet
AP Calculus BC - haven't taken yet
AP Physics B - haven't taken yet
AP English - haven't taken yet
My SAT scores are:
Math - 730
Critical Reading - 750
Writing - 690
I'm retaking the SATs in October to probably raise my math and writing scores some.
My subject tests are:
Math II - 800
Chemistry - 660
U.S. History - 700
I've been an editor of my school's newspaper the last two years, captain of our ultimate frisbee team the last two years, and this year I'm a captain of our science olympiad team.

How can an unweighted GPA be over 4.0, or is your school’s grading scale one where there are A+'s which are given a weight of greater than 4.0? Just wondering. Every high school I have ever seen has a scale where 4.0 is the very highest possible unweighted GPA, with an A being 4.0 (but I do remember my high school, 30 years ago, having A+'s–I didn’t think modern schools gave them any more)

@jennieling Some schools follow the 5.0 scale.

sorry meant to make that 3.65
