Currently doing research in using C programming(self-taught) to generate several positive expectancy automated stock trading systems (validated with statistics beyond AP Stat), and then minimizing drawdowns(losing streaks), through diversification of automated trading systems.

Getting recs from AP Calc teacher, AP Chem teacher, and AP Lit
All known for giving good recs.
Calc and Chem like me a lot...

Essays are pretty good.

Wow I am interested in what people have to say because when I am getting ready to apply my resume will probably be looking around the same as yours (There are sooooo many similarities from race to grades). Although I am a two years younger than you. Well for both of our sakes I think this is a good resume, but like all top notch universities there is always that need for luck. Good luck I hope you get in.

Okay thanks.

Your academic stats look great. The only thing I don’t see is any leadership other than event leader and science team. You should try to show more leadership IMO. There will be lots of applicants with stats similar to yours. Good luck though.

I think you have a great shot!

Tripletime, I was not only an event leader, but also led an entire category of events, in 11th grade. Also, I just found out that I will be the overall leader for Science Olympiad this year. Would that significantly improve my chances?

You seem perfect for Stanford, MIT and Caltech

You seem like a great candidate, but from experiences with alumni at my school who were accepted, Stanford is very holistic and more random. MIT and Caltech seem like good fits, but be sure to write great essays. Your stats, although good, seem very stereotypical for an applicant there.

Okay, thanks. That’s kind of funny, because my top 4 universities, in order of top choice to lowest choice(Harvard definitely not my lowest choice, just lowest choice listed), are:

Stanford
MIT
Caltech
Harvard

Thanks for the help everyone.
Also, on a sidenote, how much will bringing the SAT from 2270 to 2350 actually help?
Sidenote #2, junior year I got a 94.5 on AMC12. Should I list?

I think you should list as many leadership positions as possible and be specific in their description. Both of my sons got in and had quite a bit of leadership… NHS Pres, Mu Alpha Theta Pres, Golf Captain, UIL team captains, Band Section Leader, State qualifiers for band and UIL… I’m just saying that leadership counts and you should try and list as much as you can. You want to show that your peers see you as a leader. Hope that helps and I wish you the best.

I believe you have a better shot at MIT and Caltech.

You don’t need to retake the SAT. Writing the essays for each school.would be a better use of your time. Also, historically, MIT and CalTech naturally focus more on the SAT II and the Math section.

Okay, thanks for the replies.

Stanford also places emphasis on athletics to an extent, more than MIT or CT.

I don’t think anyone can be accurately chanced for Stanford - it’s a game of luck.

Sent from my MB865 using CC

Okay, guess I’ll cross my fingers and apply. Mainly wondering if I have a bigger or smaller than 50% chance, or if I even have a better chance than the admission rate of 7%.

I realize that Stanford admissions are somewhat random, and that you can’t give accurate % chances, but, I think my request might be somewhat reasonable.

Another way of phrasing it: am I better than the average applicant?

no.

10char.

I disagree- I think you’re above the average applicant

Oh wait is national chemistry Olympiad along the lines of usamo and usabo?

It is USNCO, it is easier to qualify. Held by ACS, to select team for IChO
I did get second place in the south carolina regional, though.
