Chances I get into UConn?

Hi,

I just applied for UConn regular admission as a senior in HS, looking to get into the Journalism program. I'm from NJ.

I have a 3.56 weighted GPA, an 1810 SAT cumulative score, currently rank 81 out of about 290 students, have a pretty strong application essay (I certainly like to think), and 1 guidance counselor recommendation letter...

What can I expect?

I’m not sure how many out of state applicants UCONN accepts, but usually state school have a lot lower acceptance rate for OOS. I tried looking for their average SAT and found it to be like 1200 or something (going to assume there is no writing). with a big state university, especially, the SAT and grades are likely going to be really important with all the applications. They got 83% in top 25% though so that is an issue.

Sorry you probably know this stuff, but honestly whatever you read on here isn’t definite since it’s just a silly site full of ambitious teens :P

Hmm thanks…yes, I am aware the OOS admission is much tougher. I’m really looking to go here, but I’m worried that I’m very borderline right now. My reading SAT is much lower than the other two (530 CR, 610 M, 670 W)…the cumulative score is my fairly strong point.

Anyone else have any experience with UConn admissions?

Someone please help me out.
