Hi! I was just wondering what my chances would be at a few of the schools I have visited because I've heard a lot of different things from college counselors, friends, parents ect. I think this may be because there is a bit of a gap between my lower freshman and sophomore GPA and my junior GPA.

GPA: 3.4 freshman and Sophomore
3.9 junior year

SATs:
Math: 650
Reading: 740
Writing: 730

ECs:
-horseback riding
-MUN
-National Charity League
-tutoring younger kids
-lacrosse
-sustainability team

Schools I have looked at (I looked at a pretty big range):
-Wake Forest (NC)
-Elon (NC)
-Davidson (NC)
-Washington and Lee (Virginia)
-Occidental (CA)
-Claremont McKenna (CA)
-UC Santa Barbara (CA)

what are my chances at these schools and do you have any other recommendations?

Your GPA and SAT are solid and your ECs are interesting and should catch the eye of certain colleges. All of the schools on your list are attainable, with Elon probably being the toughest, just because it’s quite selective. If you can get that Math SAT up, you’ll be golden.

claremont mckenna, washington and lee, and davidson are far more selective than elon. i agree that you have a good shot at all of these schools, though.
-Wake Forest (NC) - high match (i have a friend who had around a 3.7 GPA and a ~1900 SAT who was accepted. if you do well on your essays or show something exceptional that you’ve done over the summer, you’re an easy in.)
-Elon (NC) - high match
-Davidson (NC) - low reach
-Washington and Lee (Virginia) - reach
-Occidental (CA) - match
-Claremont McKenna (CA) - reach
-UC Santa Barbara (CA) - match

although you have a couple reaches, neither of them is ridiculous. all of these are great schools, though! good luck.
