chances in 2009?

<p>European (Greek; Okay, I guess White) Male from Northern California</p>

<p>I'm a junior right now</p>

<p>Very highly acclaimed public high school (# 3 in California)</p>

<p>SAT: 1980...first try, taking it again this Saturday</p>

<p>Unweighted GPA: 3.88</p>

<p>5 Honors classes by the time I graduate</p>

<p>2 AP's by the time I graduate (AP English Language and Calculus AP)</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars:
-City Youth Commission- 6 years, 3 terms, Treasurer Sophomore year, elected to commission by Mayor and City Council, many, many many Community Service/Teen Program Hours. at LEAST 700+
-Freshman Class Treasurer
-Class Representative Sophomore and Junior
-International Thespian Society-3 years
-6+ plays/musicals with School Performing Arts Department (we were privelaged enough to be sent to Scotland to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last August)
-2+ musicals with local youth theatre company (shows that took all summer to put together)
-Cross Country Team- 2 years</p>

<p>Work
-2 years as Intern to Counselor at Theatre Summer Camp for 6-8 year olds
-Hopefully gonna find a good job this summer and keep it through next year</p>

<p>i guess your chances would depend on which schools you are applying to, wouldn't they? you're probably a great pick for the UCs, but what if you're going ivy?
your volunteer hours are great--but are they focused?
i think your greatest strength is your passion for theatre--this'll show how dedicated you can be.
also-are you taking the SAT IIs? have you considered more APs? You might not be able to fit them into your schedule, but they would probably make you look even better. : )</p>

<p>keep in mind that i'm not trying to critique or anything. i'm actually in the same spot you are --so i've heard all this stuff from admissions officers and guidance counselors. the general consensus has been "you'll be fine."</p>

<p>Just concentrate on doing your very best in school. You have plenty of time. There is NO need to worry now.</p>
