What are my chances at Vanderbilt?

Chances- Excellent provided you write some awesome essays, and have strong recs. The only gap in your profile would be the 2 AP's, and getting the chairperson position next year would really help establish you as a leader. You have done an amazing job of being involved and keeping up your academics. Congrats - Vanderbilt should be a great match for you.

Thanks. I really only started researching it last night haha, but it seems beautiful and like such a good community.

You might also want to retake the SAT's so that you can get a better math score. It would improve your composite greatly, and I feel that it would bring you from a good chance at the school (although some with amazing stats were rejected) to in the running for some of the scholarships that they offer. Am I wrong in assuming that someone with your academic credentials could not achieve 700+ in math and a better score in the writing section?

Other than that though, you look better than I did.

Did you get into Vandy Mr_jones?

yah,

I am debating between (all costs included) 14k/yr Colorado School of Mines, 18k/yr CU-Boulder, and 25k/yr Vandy. They all seem to be great schools, and I will have a hell of a time deciding.

Also, my stats weren't as great as your, but I did have several aspects that I feel worked in my favor (beyond the traditional good essays, top 10% in class, glowing teacher recs)

College math. I took Calc 3, Diff Eq, and micro-econ. Getting A's in each probably helped greatly.

minor aspects
2. Location- I live in CO, and Vandy lacks a presence in the west
3. My SAT's favored math and reading so my composite came out at 1480/2060
4. I had a job from So-Sr year for 10hrs/wk during the year, and 30hrs/wk during the summer
5. SAT II's Physics 720 and Math 2 800- both are really easy- I only studied the day before for 5-6 hours- you would do well

Best of luck, hopefully you do successfully apply to vandy- although comparing myself to others it might just be a crap shoot

You said they lack presence in the west? So would being from California help a little?

The SAT II's I'm most likely taking are MathIIC, US history, and one other.
