Chances (INT'L), please!

I know you’re probably getting tired of answering the same question all the time, but I’m not from US so it’s really hard for me to tell. Please, be brutally honest =)

I’m actually graduating from high school this year but for some reasons (it’s a long story) I’m planning on taking a year off and trying next year.

I’m a white female form Europe.
Very good high school in a big city.

I went to three-year school to the class with extended level of History, Social Science and Math (we can’t choose classes individually).

GPA: (1.00-6.00 scale) 1st year – 4,93, 2nd year – 4,86, 3rd year – 5,00
Rank: 2 (/~700 students) *
ATC: 32
SAT I: 2240 (CR 750, W 730, M 760)
SAT II: Lit 730, World Hist. 750, Math IIC 740
TOEFL: 109/120 (iBT)

I really hope they will take it under the consideration since my GPA looks really bad for people who don’t know our grading system (5,00 is actually REALLY good)

ECs (nothing special, unfortunately):
- finalist of Human Rights Olympiad
- school paper for two years (one as editor)
- volleyball team
- class president for a year
- girl scout (leader of a group of about 20 girls), organized a lot of outings and trips
- a lot of charity work
- volunteer helping children with their school work
- summer job in one of the EU institutions

I have nice recommendations from teachers and people I worked for, but nothing impressive here either.

I got a few great scholarships that basically cover everything I need (YEAH!!!) so I’m not applying for any FA.

Probably politics, sociology, int'l relations or economics (depending on school)

NYU
USC
UCLA
U of Chicago

Anyone?
Please…

pretty good, you can even try the Ivies. Which country are you from?

Poland. Thanks

They care about rank not GPA everything is looked at in context. You look good for all of those schools without aid.
