Chances into Pitzer?

<p>Pitzer is my top choice school and I'm freaking out so it would be wonderful if anyone could give me their thoughts, specifically those who know Pitzer and their admissions process because it's somewhat different from the typical school.</p>

First Generation College student
Interviewed and visited
Strong teacher recs
2 extra recommendations, one from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and one from my advisor there.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1850
Extra-Curriculars: Lots of summer programs. Tons of art/creative interests. A full week doing a community service project in Chicago.
2 APS: English lit, APUSH (4s on both). (Oh and my school only offers 2 APs).</p>

<p>I took the most advanced courses I could at my high school despite its small size. From Washington. </p>

<p>When I went to Pitzer I felt that I meshed well with the school and completely fell in love with it.</p>

<p>oh yeah being native american will give you a huge leg up at pitzer they are always looking for the most diverse students… your GPA seem a little low but i wish you the best of luck your sat seems on target i say it btwn low reach and high match. </p>

<p>One of my close friends actually chose Pitzer over Berkeley. </p>

<p>I think that your chances are decent. I’m not all that familiar with how LAC’s evaluate/admit students, but your GPA and SAT’s seem ok enough from what I know about Pitzer. Is that GPA weighted or unweighted btw?</p>

<p>emilsinclair9 - I know people who actually chose Berkeley over Pitzer! Seriously, though, my D chose Pitzer over Berkeley and couldn’t be happier.

<p>My friend is a girl that goes to Pitzer now…perhaps it is the same girl! lol jk. Anyways, yeah both Berkeley and Pitzer are great schools and radically different. It would probably come down to personal preference for those that had to choose between the two.</p>

<p>Personally, I would go to Cal, but that’s only because I like the idea of being off on my own at a major research university. Cal also specializes in what I intend to focus on. My major is Psych, and I want to do research in Campos’ Child Development Center :). </p>

<p>Anyways, at the OP: If that’s unweighted, then yeah I think your chances are solid.</p>
