I take offense to what you said yen06!

dude, you're a machine

haha, yen06. i miss you too.

don't worry about her, she's a really cool person.

bump . . .

yen06, i personally know you too :D

bump . . .

people estimating a 15% of you getting into harvard?..

oh god that just makes me scared to death.
you have very. very. good stats.. =( way to bump me down another spot on the admissions list ;p

15% is already above average

bump . . .

lol where are your stats rice girl?

bump . . .

Yeh... I guess you'll reach Harvard///

Hold on a minute....Chances are just as good as any other top 5% high SAT person

Dude, you have very good stats.
You make sure and post the results...after you get in :)

I'm very scared for my chances at CalTech if you can't get in to Harvard, MIT, etc. You have EXCELLENT scores & ECs.

gulps

Remove me from CalTech~

Goldfish, haha you can feel free to check out my (thankfully dead) "WHAT ARE MY FREAKING CHANCES" thread... seeing as I only have 35 posts or so.
I actually don't really care what my chances are anymore. All I care about is getting my freaking apps done. And calling back rice boy of course because he called me tonight and I couldn't pick up cause my parents are flippin crazzzzyyy.

You have some nice stats and EC's!

A lot of schools I believe are still Reaches.. mostly schools which are Reaches for everybody.

MIT & Caltech: Reaches
Harvard: Reach
UPenn:Reach
Duke: Match
Swarthmore:Match
Yale:Reach
Princeton: Reach
UVA:Match
UCB:Match
UCLA:Match

I wish you the best of luck and please post your final results.

I will need some advice for applying to college next year (MIT, Caltech, and Princeton are some of my top choices.)

what is your major?

You guys dont realize but good stats alone cannot get you into the top schools, especially "HYPS". You have to bring something to the table that they'd want. Considering that my school sends 100+(out of class of 300) students to Ivies,Stanford, MIT each year, Ive seen many high stats applicants get rejected for lower stats kids who have other qualities besides academics.

rice_boy might get rejected simply cause he may seem like the typical asian applicant with no other qualities besides academics. Especially since these elite, elite colleges receive many of them.

I agree with diamondt. but I wonder... if ivies want to see passion from the applicants, why can't academics be a passion? :)

haha hey perry.. i think? good luck with college apps. You will be a huge success.
