I understand the nursing programs are very competitive. That being said, I did make it into a nursing program - rolling admissions.

Chance me please on Penn State, James Madison, UVA, Clemson, Villanova

98% average
5/290 Class Rank
SAT's 1960 W - 700, Math 650, CR 610
EC's include Team Captain, Manager, etc., Varsity Sports, Work Experience, NHS, etc.

UVA is probably not going to happen, but interested in mostly Penn State.

Okay - what this tells me by no response is that not too many people know the nursing major. How about chances at Penn State regardless of major? How strong a chance do I have?

You can get a BSN at most state universities at far less expense. What do you want to ultimately do? Practice? Teach at a prestigious private university? Teach at a state university, or RN program?

Personally, I would go for a good state school program.

Yeah, but in 3 different states. Applying OOS to a school like UVA is uber competitive.
When I say state school, I mean for your state, wherever that may be.

Well - in my first post, I did state that UVA is probably not going to happen, and I was mostly wandering about Penn State. According to the school's statistics, I appear to be a match for Penn State, but since nursing accepts 90/900 applicants for the nursing major at University Park - just wondering if anyone had any insights.

Also, my state is Maryland which is limited in nursing schools. The only school I would go to for that is the University of Maryland which you spend 2 years in College Park & 2 years in Baltimore. For personal reasons, I do not want to go to a city school. I also have ties to Pennsylvania as my mom is from there, so may want to eventually move there.
