Chances of a senior standing international to get admitted to UCD CSE

Hi, there.

I’m a international student who want to major in CSE in UCD. I’m now studying at Sacramento CC. My GPA is 3.9 now and I took ~30 credits.

Previous to CC I also attended an overseas 4-year college, took massive credits(110) and the GPA there is low(2.2), and I didn’t obtain the degree.

I’ve known that College of Engineering in UCD has a special policy on senior standing students that they would see senior standing students with no special concern.

My questions are:

  1. Shall I took more courses in order to lifting up my overall GPA at overseas 4year and CC?
  2. I feel that the situation in CC is quiet manageable to me. Is it a good for me to take upper level courses in UCD?
  3. If I keep my academic record in CC perfect, is transferring to UCD CSE a safe plan?

Thanks!

I suggest you talk to a transfer advisior at your CC since they should be more knowlegeable about UCD’s transfer policies.
I would also contact UCD admissions and ask to speak to someone that could help you with your specific situation.

Here is a link to the UC application information. Look at page 34 for information regarding High unit transfers to see if this could answer some of your questions.

I would imagine that with your situation, it would warrant the College of Engineering Dean’s review due to the # of credits you have accumulated.
