Chances of Acceptance for Elon's Honors College

I am hoping that someone who is in or knows someone in the Elon Honors College can tell me if I have a chance of getting in. My SAT scores are 680 for critical reading, 590 for math, and 680 for writing. I retook the sat and am expecting around a 620-660 for math,690-710 on critical reading,and 690+on writing. I am ranked 5th in my class out of 200 and have gotten 1 B. I have received a 4 on AP Biology and Euro, a 5 on AP Lang, U.S. History,and Environmental Science, and a 3 on AP Stat. This year I am taking 2 classes each semester at the local community college in addition to 2 classes each semester at my high school. I have a few extra curricular activities but not a lot. What are my chances of being accepted? Thank you for your time.

Elon Honors College: Match

It’s hard to say. Your chances are dependent on a couple of factors - what the pool of candidates you are competing against looks like, and if you’re invited to Fellows day, how you fare in the Fellows competition.

Elon’s web site recommends an SAT score of 2000 to apply, so if your scores are what you hope it’s worth a try.

When is Fellows Day and what is the Fellows competition?

You can learn more here: <a href=“Elon University / Undergraduate Admissions / Fellows and Scholars Programs”>Elon University / Undergraduate Admissions / Fellows and Scholars Programs;

Elon has several Fellows programs - Honors, Business, Communications, Teaching, and a few others. Students apply for the program, and the top students are invited to a Fellows Weekend in March. During this time, they have an interview, attend a class, and write an essay to compete for seats in the Fellows programs. Each Fellows program will make offers to a certain number of students - I think Honors Fellows number about 40. Fellows scholarships range in value from around $5,000 to $13,500. There are additional grants and other opportunities available to Fellows.
