I am a freshman at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. I have enjoyed the school so far this semester, but I am planning on filling out some applications to see if I can get into a better school. I have - roughly- a 3.6 GPA so far in college, 2000 SATs, 3.4 GPA in high school.

Some of my EC's include America Reads (a program where I teach young children how to read), Club Rugby, Newspaper, and First Book (another community service project). I am in good standing with all of my professors.

I am thinking about applying for next fall to Hamilton, Colgate, University of Rochester, and Trinity College. Can anyone tell my what my chances are of being accepted to these schools? And perhaps if it would be a better idea to wait maybe another year to apply.

don't know too much about some of those other schools although id imagine you'd have a better shot, so ill speak on colgate and hamilton

your hs gpa, sat's, and college gpa are all a little below average...your ec's don't really stand out or demonstrate any real leadership although perhaps that is not true...i would put in another year if you want to get into hamilton or colgate and try to raise your gpa up a little bit to compensate for other areas of your application... always harder to transfer showing your potential transfer school only one semester worth of grades...

I'm trying to transfer from hobart and william smith too. What I have done is emailed some of the transfer admissions reps from the schools and told them i was interested in transferring and they in turn sent me what they expected from a qualified transfer applicant. I found that to be a lot more detailed and helpful when deciding the chance you have compared to looking up acceptance rates.
