Chances of acceptance?

I'm an out of state student (junior this year) From WV.

SAT:
Math: 550
Reading: 520
Writing: 630

ACT: Not taken yet, but plan on getting a 25-26

SAT Subject Tests: Considering doing the world history or spanish tests, I do well in those subjects.

GPA as of first semester of junior year: 3.5

Rank: 100 of 367 (27%)

I plan to major in business/marketing. What are my chances?? I'm especially worried because I am an out of state student and my freshman/sophomore year grades aren't great.

your GPA is alright but your test scores are low for the SAT, definitely try and get those up to the 600s or 580s if possible. For the ACT, try and aim for a 27 if you can.

I think you have a decent chance of getting in. Keep improving those grades and show that you have moved on from your freshman/sophomore years and improve the test scores!

I’ve taken all honors classes throughout high school and next year is my senior year and I’ll be taking AP Statistics, AP Civics/government, AP Environmental Science, and College english which will transfer out of state to Clemson as college credit (the program is approved, I checked on clemson’s website). Does this help?

yes it will definitely help, the difficulty of your coursework definitely factors into the admissions decision

Okay, I have a few questions still. Will applying before December 1st help as well? Would the Subject tests help as long as I do well on them? How much does out of state residency actually matter? Do extracurriculars help? Because I’ve done marching band for three years at school. I’m just really worried I’m going to end up at WVU lol… Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it

Yes, applying before December 1st helps.

No subject tests do not matter at all into their decision as well

Admissions rates are pretty similar between in-state and out of state students so don’t worry too much (stats for 2011: [Clemson University Fact Book](http://www.clemson.edu/oirweb1/FB/factbook/CUfactbook.cgi?conf_file_name=FBA_ByCollegeAAE2&tabbness=2&colapp=1))

Extracurriculars really don’t matter unless they are really superior

If you scroll down to pages 10-12, it’ll tell you what they consider important or not in the admissions process - http://www.clemson.edu/oirweb1/FB/factbook/CommonDataSet2011.pdf

Okay thanks man!
