My daughter has a weighted Gpa of 4.13 is just below the top 10% but only has a 1210 SAT.
Her counselor says she’s in good shape but I am worried she may not get accepted into a 3+3 dpt program. We live in Pa and she’s ready to apply to multiple PA schools.
Any thoughts or advice for her?
I am new here. Wondering what I need to get a few replies?
Do I need to provide more information?
Thank you.
Without knowing where your D is applying, it’s impossible to chance. There are a very broad range of schools in PA in terms of selectivity.
Other useful info:
Unweighted GPA
Course rigor
ECs
Generally speaking though, I’d trust the school’s GC more than folks here. They know your student in context that we don’t have, and know where previous graduates have been accepted.
3+3 DPT programs are highly competitive and stats of accepted students are usually a good deal higher than the minimum levels the schools publish. Has your D reached out to admissions staff to find out the profile of admitted students? If not, she should…it is appropriate to ask, as many schools have this data but don’t publish it on their websites.
No one here can really chance your D, but posters can give better advice if you give more info as momofsenior suggests. Generally, the SAT is probably going to be on the low side for many direct admit/accelerated DPT programs.
She is applying at Lebanon Valley, university of Scranton, Misericordia, Duquesne and Drexel. And a few more I believe.
All of her courses are Ap or Accelerated. She is in honor society, but isn’t a sports girl. But is involved and volunteers a lot.
Thank you, this is new territory for us!
