Chances of actually getting into college?

I'm a sophomore right now and my GPA is 2.75. It's not the best but i'm going to try and raise it as much as i can through senior year. I'm not taking any honors classes, but only 1 class that is below the normal level (Essentials Chemistry). I have all A's and B's except i had gotten a D one marking period.

Aside from academics, I'm a varsity swimmer. Swimming is a very competitive sport in my school and we are 2nd/3rd in the state of New Jersey. I'm swimming for the state and i have 3 varsity times.

Also i volunteer a lot. I volunteer at a soup kitchen in NYC every few months with my church, and I've been on missionary trips to Guatemala and Haiti.

I'm a really nice person and have a good personality if that helps at all.

I really want to see chances of me getting into any college, hopefully i can get my GPA to a 3.
Thank you all!

Hello!
Last year I was in the exact same position as you!
I graduated last June with a 2.89 GPA.
I ended up applying to VCU, GMU, and UMW and didn’t get accepted to any of them…
I thought I had a good chance because I had over 15 extra-C’s and volunteer work…
College is really compeitive. I ended up at community college and now I have a 3.7 and have been getting accepted to a bunch of places.
I wouldn’t count on getting anywhere unless you bring your GPA up to a 3.0 before you apply, or you have atleast a 1600 with writing SAT score…

I understand, I had to wait a year but it was worth it.

I hope this helped!
