You should have a pretty good chance with ED. I can’t speak for the Honors program though. They only take 45 a year now. American took a lot of ED students last year. They seem to be focusing on kids who really want to be there and who would be a good fit. My son got in on ED with a lower GPA and SAT scores. He did not however get into Honors. He is doing a leadership program and a University College seminar. I highly recommend the University College program if you don’t get into Honors or one of the Scholars programs.

Hey, I’m in the new honors program this year and in SIS. The new honors program is great, really small with only 45 students. The acceptance rate last year for the honors program was 2.5%. My weighted GPA was a 3.9 and had 2100 SAT and 33 ACT. Even though you don’t need test scores, sending them helps show you’re committed and interested. SIS is awesome, a lot of opportunities all the time. TONS of amazing guest speakers, ambassadors, politicians, celebrities etc. The on campus vibe is very politically active if thats your thing.

@NESeattleMom‌ If you don’t mind me asking what GPA and SAT scores did he have, I’m in a similar boat and would like a little insight from someone whose been through the process.
