Chances of Andover, Exeter, Loomis, St. Paul's, Choate, Deerfield, or Hotckiss?

Hi. I'm an eight grade student and was wondering if my scores/grades are good enough to get into any of the schools above.

2.) Placed first place at a local science fair, beating out 100 other participants (each participant was from the top 4% of their school, 30 schools competed (mostly private schools)).

3.) Recieved "Best in Show" in the science fair at our school out of 80 other participants.

4.) I am a National Latin Exam merit scholar

Chances threads are fruitless, IMO.

If you want to see where kids with certain stats get in and don’t, take the time and effort to read these two threads:

And keep in mind that kids with perfect SSATs, great grades, and killer ECs get wait listed and rejected from the schools you mention every year. It’s not a bad idea to look at a wider range of schools, especially if you are dead set on going to boarding school/have no local options you can live with.

Dear BoardingSchools1: I know it’s been a few weeks since you asked your question but I have to say that I don’t understand your purpose based on the timing. You asked the question on May 2, 2012, you’re in Gr 8, you’ve taken the SSAT, so I’m assuming you’ve already applied for admission for Gr 9. If so, acceptances went out on March 10th, so you should already know if you’ve been accepted at any of these schools. If you have not sent in any applications to these schools for Gr 9, then you are too late; you’ve missed the admissions deadlines. If you still wish to get into one of these schools for Gr 9, then you should contact them immediately. Most likely they will tell you that they’ve already filled the available spots since these are very competitive schools, but you do have an impressive record, so it doesn’t hurt to try. If you really want this, be persistent and don’t give up, particularly if you do not need financial aid. Give them an exceptional reason for why you did not apply on time and why you wish to attend for Gr 9. If all else fails, apply during Gr 9 for admission to Gr 10. I wish you the best of luck and encourage you to go after this if it’s what you really want. The worse thing to do is to not try.
