Chances of becoming a Longhorn

I'm a jr. obviously @ Uconn. I switched majors from Engineering to Business and my GPA is a 3.25. I want to go south and attend Texas. They probably won't check my HS stuff, so what can I expect?

The avg. accepted GPA is 3.61 (probably rising too), and more than 70% had a 3.4 or above. Plus, you'll be fighting against Texas resident who are generally given preference. So statistically, it looks out of reach, but if you really want to go there, give it your best shot when applying. You never know.

Best of luck :)

I know Texas has a great business program, but so does UConn. Why do you want to transfer down to Texas. The weather is better?

Thanks for the help guys. I forgot to mention I am a Texas resident. OOS tuition is killing me.

What made you switch out of engineering Uconnman?

Well basically the math and science classes were kicking my butt. My grades were mostly A's and C's. I got a 4.0 this past semester in the business school. I mean, I worked hard in the science classes and I still got C's. Engineering definitely requires a certain kind of commitment or genius. I had friends that made A's or -A's in Physics and Chemistry with ease. The low grades kinda took the fun out of it you know? But like they say whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

if you're a junior already, and will be a senior next year at uconn, i would just stay there and graduate.

wow! A 4.0 in the business program! I'm in the b-program at uconn and got a 3.6 this past semester. You obviously have a knack for business, and should finish up your undergrad degree at uconn.

The problem really lies in the fact that I have exhausted all of my financial options. I am already $25,000 in debt and I am likely not to attend this semester as I have no mula(sp). It's a tough decision with bball season getting into full swing this spring and all. :(
