i also applied to JMU, VA Tech and UNC Chapel Hill (i know that last one is a stretch but it can't hurt to try)

i know i am weak in math.. only classes i've ever gotten B's in, but i got a good rec from one of my math teachers to show how hard i work at it. i also know my math SAT scores are weak but i plan to major in english and put that on the application, will that matter at all in the decision when they see how good at english i am? i would really appreciate any input, and also some feedback from current students... what were your stats when you got accepted?? thanks!

sounds like you're in

anyone else? pretty please? :-)

Yeah, provided you write decent essays and your teachers don't secretly hold a grudge against you, you'll be in. I don't think being homecoming queen counts, since that's more of a popularity thing than academic or extracurricular.

so is student government, at least it seems

Yeah, but along with being in student government comes certain administrative responsibilities. I don't think stuff like homecoming titles entail all that, at least at my HS

wow. your resume sounds just like mine, its kinda weird. the only b's i have received are in math. and my math sat scores are incredibly low compared to my verbal. im only a junior though so i hope to bring them up. i do feel like you are in though. you have everything. im really interested to see if you get in, so when you find out, make sure you post. and on the issue of homecoming queen...i have heard uva likes that sorta stuff, for example they look highly on being a 'neptune princess' in my city. basically, they like the social aspect of being homecoming queen and knowing youre involved/well-known.
