Chances of being accepted to the Federal Military Academies after high school

I am currently a senior in high school. Earlier this year, I began my application for the Military Academies but because of lack of dedication and genuine interest, I stopped the application process. However, as the time has passed, I regret not having continued applying and trying my best.

My questions are:
1.What are the chances of getting into a Military Academy as a freshman in a four year university? (In my case from the University of Texas at Austin)

2.What can I do in the University to be more attractive?

3.Will the fact that I did not complete my first application affect my profile attractiveness?

Thank you

You do realize that, even with a Congressional nomination, the service academies are reaches for anyone?

Go to serviceacademyforums and academyadmissions for more info. I really don’t know enough about how they look at college applicants to give you pointers.

Obviously, you want to excel in your freshman year of college. Take a full load of gen. ed. courses (math, science, english, etc.) I’d go more toward hard sciences than humanities. Max the CFA, as best you can. Continue doing leadership and volunteer activities.
