Chances of being recruited for rowing as a transfer?

Hello, I’m a second semester freshman at a no name liberal arts college that doesn’t have rowing. I rowed in high school lightweight and had a 6:40. I competed and got medals at club nats. I went here to pursue a cycling career and we are the best program in the country and I’m not that’d either. I was thinking about transferring back home east coast to somewhere like Georgetown to row lightweight. If I get a 2k somewhere between 6:20-6:30, I have decent grades now, 3.7, majoring in computer engineering, do you think I have a chance to get into pretty good lightweight rowing school even though I’m a second semester freshman? I would be competing in summer races.\

Thanks

I think you should cast a big net and send inquiries to all the schools you will consider. Focusing on just one school like Georgetown is a long shot because that team may not need anyone, but Drexel or Penn or Michigan might need some upperclassmen.

It’s really kind of being in the right place at the right time.
