Chances of getting a merit-based scholarship?

At least a partial scholarship...maybe? :P
I mean, I have a good chance of getting accepted, right?
I REALLY hate doing stuff like this, but I -need- money (I know that's true for a lot of people...) and I'm not sure if need-based aid will cover it. Plus, I want to go on to graduate school and stuff.

SAT I: 2200
SAT II: Math I: 700 Literature: 700
GPA: Unweighted 3.9ish/4
6 AP classes by the time I complete senior year
Mostly A's, a few B's

ECs: 10 years of piano lessons, vocal lessons, some community service, literary magazine club and human rights club

Essay: probably wasn't that good, now that I think about it, but it was about getting my first job. I at least showed "personality" or...something.
Common App Essay: About experiences at JHU Center for Talented Youth (grades 7-10)
:)

Letters of Rec: teachers: good/great
Counselor rec was probably average

Also, how is the study abroad program @ U of Richmond (I want to study French)?

And what are the students like? I don't want to go to a school that has a lot of partying/drinking...

Study abroad program is huge, and will be getting another boost in the arm when the new international center is opened next fall (just in time for your freshman year). We were named the hottest school in the country for international studies last year. Here’s a link to the study abroad office’s online home: [Office of International Education](http://studyabroad.richmond.edu/).

As for the partying/drinking, it’s all what you make of it. With any school, there are a bunch of various groups and whatever your niche is, you’ll be sure to find others that want the same thing out of their college experience as you. There are plenty that drink and plenty that don’t. You won’t be ostracized if you don’t.

As for merit-based scholarship, your test scores look to be in line with past winners, but they typically have a hook or story. If you have one, you should be in contention.

Thanks!! I’m not sure if I have a hook though. I guess I’ll have to think about it.
