Chances of getting accepted??

I haven't taken my SAT yet but I am going to this Saturday. I was just wondering if you guys thought it'd be possible for me to get into USC and what scores I would need on my SAT. I've also heard that it's hard to get into the School of Cinematic Arts. Does being very experienced in filmmaking help much? I'm very fluent in major editing programs such as Premiere Pro and After Effects, i'm just not sure how easy it would be to get in. I was hoping that film experience is what is needed to get into the school.

Heres my stats:
Student:

User Name: neotheonev2

College Class Year: 2011
High School: Private
High School Type: sends many grads to top schools
Will apply for financial aid: Yes

Academics:

GPA - Unweighted: 3.80
GPA - Weighted: 4.00
Class Rank: top 25%
Class Size: 226

Scores:

Extracurriculars:

Significant Extracurriculars: Summer film production programs. Film study CC class.
Volunteer/Service Work: 120 hours of service work
Honors and Awards: Magna Cum Laude
and Summa Cum Laude

Colleges of Interest:

College: University of Southern California, Choice #: 1, ED/EA: No, Athlete: No, Legacy: Yes, Status: Will Apply

How much will Legacy help if I get something like a 1800-2000 on my SAT?

Legacy will definitely help you… I am not sure how much though!

Here is just some statistics about the admitted class of 2009

Average SAT: 2100 (higher for Marshall School of Business/Viterbi/Other highly ranked programs)

Average GPA: UW: 3.8, Weighted: Well over 4.0

Acceptance Rate: 20-21 Percent

USC is on the rise academically and as a result it is getting harder and harder to get into each year!! This year there are tons of kids turning down Ivy Leagues + other top 15 schools to go to SC!!

Back to you… If you get your SAT’s into the 2000+ range (under is ok… but you will have a better chance the higher your SAT scores!) you will have a good chance!! Also I would work on getting that weighted GPA over 4.0… I know from my school the average weighted accepted GPA is a 4.2… USC loves leadership and EC’s so you have that going for you and continue to get involved and volunteer this summer!

Good Luck!!

for film, a big part of your application will be the film supplementals. so work hard on them!
