The ACT represents how much you learned in HS far more accurately than the SAT. Spend the money and hire a reputable and qualified tutor. Study consistently and take the ACT. If you wish, do the same for the SAT as back up. Cal Poly takes either test, yet states a preference for the ACT. My kid’s ACT was better than his SAT and we used the ACT only for Cal Poly and both for other schools. His scores improved dramatically with a qualified tutor.
