Hi, everyone! I am currently a freshman music major at VCU and am seriously considering transferring to U of R for the fall of 2018. I think I’ll end the semester with around a 3.38-3.55 GPA. Somewhere in that range. I’d like to know my chances of getting in. Both my parents went to UR, along with two aunts and two uncles. One grandpa just retired as the chair of the music department there and my other grandpa taught there in the 80s. My family is deeply rooted. My high school grades weren’t too great but improved immensely each year. Would my music grades have more effect in the transfer process than the gen ed credits I’m taking? I’ve heard that they look at transfer applicants more “as a whole”… not just GPA. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I think you have a good chance of getting in, especially given your family connection.
No idea if they will look at your music grades more carefully. Good luck!
