Chances of getting into a good Aerospace graduate program

Hello!
I’m a senior majoring in Aerospace with two minors in Engineering leadership and entrepreneurship. I’m interested in aerospace structures and material. I have been involved in a research project. My Gre scores are:
Verbal: 154
Quantitative: 162
Analytical: 3.5
I have good LOR and strong SOP
I’ve found a research lab at Caltech which seems to be perfectly aligned with my goals and work.
What are my chances of getting into Caltech?

Are you looking for a Masters or Ph.D.? What is your GPA? Your GRE scores may be an issue for a place like Caltech unless the rest of your application is remarkable and you get past the first cut.

Masters with an end goal of Ph.D.
My GPA is 3.4
The research I’ve been doing is very similar to one of the labs at Caltech and I believe I have the appropriate skills to be successful working there. But I’m scared because of the GRE scores and GPA, they won’t be able to see my SOP.

That is certainly a possibility given the selectivity of Caltech. Do any of your research mentors have contacts at Caltech and are they willing to make a call for you to get noticed by the group in question?

If not, then make sure you apply to other programs too. particularly those which are also involved in the kind of research you are interested in. I am pretty sure there are other researchers who are doing good work in the field outside of Caltech…
