Chances of getting into Brown University?

Hey everyone! I just recently applied to Brown University early decision. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about my possible opportunity of receiving admission if I posted my statistics below? I just recently had an interview, which was supposed to last 30-40 minutes, but ended up lasting a little over an hour...although, I am aware that interviews do not make that great of an impact. I know that CC's opinions are subjective and not the final opinion, so I won't be hurt if anyone says I don't have a chance. Even the most brightest students get rejected from Ivy League schools, so in all honesty I would be surprised if someone like me (I consider myself a little above average Jane) gets denied. Here are my stats:

Well...let's assume my essays were all right! What do you guys think?

Brown - Low Reach
What did you submit for your test scores? Both of them or ACT only?

You’re too kind lol! Is it that bad up in Providence? I really wanted to apply there because of their flexibility in their curriculum…there are so many things I want to do in college haha.

Brown is a fantastic school. No matter what College Confidential seems to think, there are great schools out there other than HYPSM.

I would say you’re definitely competitive! It’s a reach, as with any Ivy, but you’ve certainly got a decent chance.

I submitted the ACT…lol, that SAT is not getting me anywhere.

Well, we will see how it goes -.-
It’s an Ivy League regardless, and there’s always someone better than you out there.

Bump bump bump

low reach good luck!

I would say Brown is a low reach.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1585908-columbia-ed-results-around-corner-last-chance.html

This may be a silly question…but is low reach a bad thing? Does it mean that I barely have a chance or something?

btw, would anyone like to read the essays I’ve submitted for Brown? :)

What were your AP scores? I would say you have a good shot based on what you said for getting into Brown, but PLME is really competitive so it is a reach for everyone.

My AP Scores are as follows:

AP Biology-5
AP Chemistry-5
AP Calculus BC-5 (AB subscore of 5 as well)
AP English Language- 4
AP Environmental Science- 5
AP Statistics- 5

This year I’m going to take the AP Gov, AP Euro, AP Psych, and AP Lit tests hopefully.

Btw, my SAT subject test scores are …
Math Level II: 800
Biology M: 760
French w/ Listening: 700

God save the queen. The result comes out on the 12th…this Thursday. I don’t think I am mentally prepared for this.

@bigtimeseller232 ,

It all depends on how your school weighs certain classes.
At my school,
AP Courses are weighted at a 6.0
Honors are 5.0
Standards are 4.0

Rounded all together from freshman year to the end of junior year, I reached a 5.0. Had I gotten straight A’s, I’d have 5.2 weighted and a 4.0 unweighted. I hope that makes sense!

OH GOD. the result comes out tomorrow guys. Literally having a breakdown!!

I know there isn’t much I can do at this point…but if anyone has any advice or would like to last-minute chance me, that’d be great :)

Arrghh! I wish I knew about that website before >.<

Hey everyone, I’ll have you all know, I got wait-listed!
I’m not upset or anything, just a little flabbergasted that it’ll take till spring!!
If anyone was interested, I forgot to mention that I submitted an art supplement.
Finally, does anyone know how to submit additional materials to Brown?

@bigtimeseller232,
My school also runs on a block schedule. Meaning, I get to take four classes per semester, and then when a new semester comes, it’s four different classes. That way, I was able to double up in my math and French subjects my freshman year.
