Chances of getting into Cockrell at UT Austin

My class rank is 40/792 (nearly top 5%)
GPA: 5.1 out of 6
I took two SAT which were:
Math:690
Reading:620
Writing:650
Total:1960

Math:730
Reading:590
Writing:520
Total:1900

I plan on taking the ACT soon also.
I have extracurriculars and AP tests and everything. What are my chances of getting in?
I am a texas resident and have been all my life. GO TEXAS! :D

If there is any other info needed, just let me know

You’re in at Cockrell, it’s not hard to get in when you’re in-state.

bumb…

Don’t all the UT schools give automatic admission to those in the top 10%? 40th out of 792 implies you’re in.

UT auto-admit is actually top 7% for 2014. Still you’re in at top 5. Auto-admit does not guarantee you a particular major but you have a 2000 superstore so I’d say you are a likely for Cockrell.

Apply early and you’ll have your answer early.

You will probably get admitted since you are a Texas Resident, Top 5% and have a 2000 Superscore SAT. Might be a little harder getting into the harder though.

Mind Chancing back?

You are an auto-admit to UT. Cockrell may be a bit more challenging due to your SAT. Bump that up to 2050 or better to have a good chance. The average engineering SAT is 2050 so you want to be better than that.

Is UT Austin one sitting for SAT?
