Chances of getting into Fordham? (Lincoln Center)

Hi everyone, I’ve always checked out the forum on this website but never made an account until I had a few of my own questions. Here is my situation:
I am currently at a community college in the Chicagoland area, I am about to begin my sophomore year here (this will be my 2nd and final school year at this school). My GPA is a 3.7. I am also involved in a few clubs (newspaper, political activist, and an eco-friendly club) at my community college. I am majoring in journalism and was interested in Fordham LC’s communications/journalism program.

I wanted to know if with a 3.7 GPA, possibly going down to a 3.6 depending how I do this upcoming year (not saying it will go down, but just to give myself some leeway and look at it realistically) or even if I stay the same and keep my 3.7 or improve, what are my chances of getting into Fordham LC looking like? Also if I’m thinking correctly, would being involved in clubs and activities at my current school help increase my chances?

I also read a few posts on here saying Fordham doesn’t offer on-campus housing/dorming to transfer students, is that true? I checked their website and it said transfer students must apply for housing (just like any other school) so I wasn’t sure if that was true at a point where Fordham’s housing was at its maximum or if that’s true overall.

I forgot to add: I am planning on transferring Fall of 2018. Some of my other school choices are Syracuse (NY), San Diego Sate (California), Loyola University (Chicago, IL)

Thank you, and sorry for the lengthy question.

I would say that a 3.6-3.7 GPA is pretty good, and your extracurriculars sound good too! The housing thing might be more true at RH than LC, because they don’t have enough housing. I don’t think that you would have a huge problem getting on campus housing, but I’m no expert. All of the people I know who are transfer students have been able to stay on campus, but that’s anecdotal. I will say that as a transfer student you would be the last group to apply for housing, so if housing is super tight that might be an issue.

I don’t know if this matters to you, but Fordham doesn’t offer much financial aid to transfer students, so if money is an issue, I would suggest trying to commute from somewhere uptown. It would be way cheaper than living on campus if you found the right apartment.
