Wassup guys. Have a few questions if you don't mind answering.

I just wanted to know how hard will it be to get into FSU with a good GED score and a good SAT score? I didn't do so well in High School so I had to drop out because I didn't have enough credits to graduate. My GPA in High school was around a 2.0, Thats really bad to get considered going to this school but I feel like a have a pretty good shot getting into FSU with a good GED score and SAT score. Now I know it would be best for me to start off at a 2 year school then transfer but I wanna experience all 4 years. Even if I don't get accepted I'm still gonna work hard to get into my dream school. So again, how hard will it be to get into FSU with a good GED score and a good SAT score? And when are applications available for Fall 2014? I heard it was in August, is that true? I hope I didn't say too much lol, I need you guys help. Thanks

I think a good place to start would be asking what your grades were in the core classes since you will have to submit a partial high school transcript to FSU when you apply. It’s not just based on your GED score and your SAT score.

Lets just say most of my grades were D’s and below lol. I know that will most likely mess my chances up but I did have pretty good math grades through my High Schools year. Had a C in Intro to Algebra and Algebra I X. Didn’t do so well in English. Got a D in that too. Due to those grades, my chances are pretty finished huh? lol.

I wouldn’t say your chances are finished, but I would say that I wouldn’t expect you to be accepted. Although I haven’t heard of any GED applicants getting accepted, so I really don’t know how all of that works, honestly.

Have you contacted the Office of Admissions? They could probably give you some really good advice.

What if I go to TCC for one semester and get really good grades? Can i transfer to FSU with only doing one semester or I have to do the full 2 years to get my AA?

You’d want to get your AA. It’s not going to be any easier to transfer without your AA than it would be to be admitted as a freshman in your current situation.

As I said before though, I don’t really know the policy with GED students, and I really think that you’d be best off contacting admissions directly and simply explaining your situation and asking what they think/recommend.
