This school is a really great school and I think you have a really good chance at this school just by looking at your stats, good job.

Like most schools, this school looks at academic and leadership and take it into consideration. They look at your grades, SAT/ACT scores, your EC’s as well as community service, leadership positions, teacher recommendations, and of course, your essay. I’ll explain a couple of things that really get my attention based on what you wrote and I’ll make those notifications in bold so you can jump right to it lol.

**SAT/ACT and SAT II Subject Tests
~One thing you should know about this honors college is its SAT policy. This college only looks at your Critical Reading and Math score. Judging from your scores, your math and your reading are really good, and competitive, good job. SAT II Tests are not required by these test make your application seem more rounded and to the point, and strengthens it. For example, if you’re a math person, it’s best to take Math Level 1 and Level 2.

**AP Scores
~ Your AP scores are fine, so don’t stress. But it really comes down to what you want to do in college.

**Extracurricular Activities and Recommendations
~ This school requires two teacher recommendations, so make sure you get those in. Also they really look at community service and EC’s. The EC’s you’ve listed are fine, and but really focused. I get a vibe of uncertainty, it seems like you don’t know what you really want to do.

Overall, I think you have a really good chance at this school, so I wouldn’t stress too much about admission. Good luck.

yeah i know my ec’s are pretty scatter brained… the only common characteristic is the few that could relate to international stuff, but idk. i’m just interested in a lot of thingsss

and i have lots of community service but most is like a few hours at a million random things and not a bunch of long commitment things, so should i just leave those off cuz i know they don’t look too impressive… also i didn’t keep track of them or write them down anywhere so i’d have to see if my school knows cuz they were for nhs, OH lol i forgot to say i’m in nhs if that helps. thanks for your recommendations and encouragement tis much appreciated kind stranger!!

Congratulations on your achievements so far.

The average SAT score for an accepted student last year was 1420 (cumulative of the Math and Reading sections) and the mean High School average was 93.9%. [The mean ACT equivalent would be a 3.2, and the GPA equivalent would be a 3.85].

Our application essays are already available although the online application will be available in early September. This is a great opportunity to tell us your story and distinguish yourself in our application pool. Get a head start.

Any Admissions updates would most likely be posted to our Prospective Student Page. Feel free to check that periodically and register for an Info Session or Open House.

Here you will get a larger and clearer understanding of the Honors College and will have an opportunity to gain a perspective of Macaulay that you may not gain otherwise.
