Chances of getting into McGill? (international student)

Hello, I’m 18, from Slovenia and have just graduated, but am taking a year off. My GPA of all four years is 3.69 (4.0 without Freshman year), my SAT score was 1350 and my ACT score was 33. However, I did not have any AP classes, because my country doesn’t have any (we only have IB programme, but it was not available at my school). Will that affect my chances?

My GPA Freshman year was very bad, but I hear Canada doesn’t count the first year? The GPA of my Sophomore, Junior and Senior year is 4.0, so does that mean I should submit my GPA as 4.0?

I want to get into McGill, what do you think my chances are? Do they offer any financial aid for international students and are they need blind? I would need a lot of aid or a good scholarship as my country only helps a little financially and my parents can’t afford to pay. Will being from Slovenia benefit me in “diversity department”? I’m sure they don’t get a lot of Slovenian students…

Oh and I was 4th in my class. I think I would of been higher if I hadn’t messed up my Freshman year.

Your chances are very good for admission. Canadian universities are need blind for admissions. You may or may not get aid however. http://www.mcgill.ca/studentaid/scholarships-aid/international-students#mcgill-financial-aid
