Chances of getting into med school vary by school attended?

Hey,

I was just wondering if going to a certain school increases your chances of getting into med school. Do med schools show preference to students who have attended undergrad at the same school?

Will going to Drexel University increase my chances to get into med school compared to going to Penn State or University of Pittsburgh.

I know your MCAT and GPA play a major role in admission, but do the above questions play any role?

Thanks

Nope. Med schools for the most part don't care about where you went to undergrad, as long as your grades and MCAT scores are right. Any school that claims to "get" its students into medical school is pretty much outright lying. Some schools might have stronger science programs that better prepare you for the MCAT, but in the end it comes down to how well YOU perform, rather than what school attend.
