Chances of getting into Penn State Main???

I am a white female, high school senior and live in PA. I plan on applying to PSU in the beginning of September.
GPA unweighted: 3.65
GPA weighted: 4.035
Total number of AP/ Honors Classes : 19 ( from freshman to senior year )
SAT score: 1690/ 1150
Major: Undecided
I also have a job, participate in community service, and am a member of National Honor Society

I would love to know my chance of getting into PSU main’s fall program. I am not opposed to going for the summer program but would just prefer to go in the fall. I appreciate any helpful comments.

I’d take your SAT’s again and try to bump that score up. You only have to apply by November 30th to be in the priority batch of applicants. It does not matter if you apply Sept 1 or November 30 as long as all of your materials are in by November 30th.

The middle 50% statistics are 1750-2000 for SAT. Your GPA is in the middle 50% but be careful trying to compare your GPA to others who get in. It really depends on how your school weights the scores.

I think you’d be a good bet for summer with your stats, but unsure about fall. You can always apply for fall, with the summer option. They will evaluate you FIRST for fall. If you don’t meet the requirements they will evaluate you for summer. Only after that would they offer you a branch campus if you don’t meet the criteria. If you don’t put summer as an option, then they will go straight from fall evaluation to branch campus evaluation. I’ve seen a lot of people scrambling to get back in touch with admissions and try to get evaluated for summer admission after they were denied fall.

I will say this, my daughter had a lower GPA than you (Weighted 3.48), but much higher standardized test scores (her ACT score translated to about a 1950 SAT) and she was offered summer admission. She has about 2 weeks left on the summer session and she LOVES it. She’s had so much fun and met so many great people, she feels completely ready for fall.
