Chances of getting into reach

Hi,
I've been concerned recently with my chances of getting into my reach, Virginia Tech.
I currently have a double legacy (two brothers who currently attend and will be attending my freshman year in college), along with a fairy substantial resume in terms of extracurriculars. My ACT score falls within the average of which individuals from my school were accepted (30 Composite, E29, M30, R27, S31, E/W9. However, my cumulative weighted GPA falls below the accepted from my school, sitting at a 3.57. Despite this, I've shown great improvement throughout the years, starting with a 3.5 freshman year to a 3.77 junior, finally running with a 4.10 senior year. Taken 4 AP's in the class, 4's on all exams, and currently taking 4 more as a senior. (Statistics, Spanish, Government, and Literature to be exact.)

Could anyone help me out?

well noone can say for sure( except the counselour perhaps!! ) . hope you make it

Counselor said that I would be perfectly fine in tech in terms of classes, the only problem would be getting in. Also to add is that I hope to major in Biology.

Additionally for EC’s Captain of Indoor and Outdoor Track, Leadership and National Honor Society, member of two church bands if they make any at all a difference.

Are you a VA resident. If so, are you from Northern VA. It can be very competitive to get into UVA and VTech from Northern Virginia. There are far more qualified applicants than slots. There is always hope!

I am a NOVA resident, Fairfax County in particular. I am aware of the competitiveness from this region which is further adding to my worry

I tend to think you will be accepted, mostly because of your nice upward trend.
Good luck!

…

skizors … we can only speculate on this site. In the meantime, continue to research and submit applications to other schools … you’d be surprised at the number of amazing schools out there that your siblings didn’t already attend.
