Hi,
I have a gpa of 3.63 and a sat score 1750 and i play tennis in my HS and won a intercollegiate championship and some other trophies but on HS level not national or state or city level and i want to apply to stanford on the bases of my athletic career and academic as well. So i want to know that what are my chances of getting in ? And what documents should i attach with my application to prove my athletic career.
Unless you are a top ranked, world class player, it won’t help. Also your GPA and SAT scores are not competitive for Stanford.
I agree with the previous post. But you do not need to rely on us.
You can go to the Stanford athletics site and click on the tennis rosters (not sure if you are male or female). There are short bios that include pre-Stanford tennis accomplishments. Also, the recruiting Bible for tennis is tennisrecruiting.net. You can cross-check the junior rankings for Stanford recruits there.
Just as an example, Stanford women’s tennis lists three freshmen on the current roster. Their national ranks for their high school graduating year? 13, 7, 9

If you are not being recruited for tennis at Stanford, your junior tennis experience amounts to an extra-curricular activity.
“And what documents should i attach with my application to prove my athletic career.”
OP, I’m afraid you are unaware of the reality about D1 athletic recruiting in general and Stanford in particular. If you already are not being inundated with interest from coaches at middling D1 programs then I’m sorry to say that you have absolutely no chance of being recruited for tennis at Stanford (or likely any other high-level D1 program). Talent as an athletic recruit is not demonstrated by attaching documents to your application. By the time a bona fide athletic recruit submits his/her application, all of the recruiting and behind the scenes work with the admissions office already has occurred. That dance among coach, recruit and admissions all takes place over many months if not years.Best of luck to you.
I believe you have to be above 2000 on your Sat (among other things) to qualify for being approved to even make the application as Stanford recruit. However, I’m not in admissions so I can’t be sure of the inner workings. I would recommend getting in contact with the coach of the tennis squad there, perhaps and email or phone call, that might help clear some things up. I’m speaking from experience, but I am only one person.
I wish you the best of luck with your college applications
As has been stated in a previous post, unless the coach is speaking with you and you are being pursued, your SAT and anything else does not really matter. Even with perfect scores and all, your chances as a “walk on” are slim to none if the coach is not showing interest in you. Your passion for the sport is great, but means nothing if you are not being recruited. And I speak as the parent of 2 D! student athletes.
