I think you have a very good chance of being accepted and I think you look like the type of student who would fit well into CWRU. I would recommend that you take the ACT one more time, as many students do better the second time, and as I understand it, CWRU uses the highest score for your application- so there is no chance of it hurting you, if you do not do as well. I also think you’ll want to make sure you read the wonderful link from Bopper on how to show interest. I might also suggest that you reach out to the CWRU Volleyball coach if that is something you might want to continue. I wish you great luck on your application. CWRU is a wonderful college.
Case Western nursing shouldn’t be to hard to get into. I’ve known lots of nurses with ACT’s below 30 and GPA’s of around 3.5 to 3.6 get in. I wouldn’t be too worried about getting in. Also, in regards to nursing, it really doesn’t matter where you study nursing at. Although Case’s nursing program offers clinical programs to first year students, it is a relative expensive even if you receive a scholarship. I highly suggest looking at schools where you can realistically get into and be offered a good scholarship so you can pay way less. In all honesty, it doesn’t matter where you go to nursing school, you’d be a nurse assuming you pass the NCLEX exam.
@stressedsally I disagree with above post. You may get a good financial package from Case Western, and
you may also win MERIT with an ACT of 32. For certain apply and try for it. Nurses at Case Western are
way ahead clinically, my son’s close friend is a junior in the program, and they do many more clinical rounds
than other nursing programs and they have a firm grasp of the biology and chemistry as well. Case is especially well respected in the northeast and midwest and considered the best school in Ohio for many majors, but especially nursing. Also, your class size will be very small, its a small and very special program. Taking ACT again cannot hurt you, its just a morning out of your busy life. So yes, try again, as that will help with scholarships at Case and any schools you apply to. Good luck!
@SuperAzn69 - to put it simply - stay in your lane. We’ve all read your bitter, regretful posts. I don’t understand why someone with so much animosity for a school, continues to attend? I don’t believe CWRU is the “best school ever” - but why do you bother being so negative? Your comments are random and generic- be specific about your issues, maybe they would be more helpful for someone who is really trying to make a decision to attend - if that is even your goal. It’s like you fault CWRU for accepting you. You use the term “nothing special” a lot - I’m sorry that you couldn’t find a more special school to attend.
UPDATE Accepted w/ a $10K Scholarship!
