Chances of getting into the University of Pittsburgh

HS GPA: 3.3 (weighted)
SAT: 1720
SAT (Math): 590
SAT (Reading): 560
SAT (Writing): 570

I know that my GPA is quite low. This resulted from excessive slacking during high school. However, this semester, I am taking two AP courses, which are Biology and Chemistry. I am doing exceptionally well in both of them (specifically a 91% in each). I have spoken to my counselor, and they said that my best chance would be to apply after semester one of high school with these grades on my transcript.

Do you think that there is even a remote chance that I could get in?

Why Pitt?

Would you be willing to start at a branch campus and transfer after the first two years?

If it’s my only option, I’ll be willing to go to another school for two years and then transfer. Also, I forgot to mention that my desired major is computer science. I’m sure that is important to the admissions process. woops.

Your GPA is extremely low (lower then what your unweighted GPA should be for Pitt). Apply to a branch school and transfer.

I got into Pitt last month here were my stats: 2040 SAT, 4.0 GPA, Captain/Varsity XC and Track, top 20% of the class. Hope this helps good luck and hail to Pitt!
