Ok so I’m a senior in high school, and I have a set list of colleges I’m going to apply to but there’s a few I’m scared will deny me. The schools I’m afraid of getting denied from are The University of Central Florida, The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, and University of Georgia. I’m from Pennsylvania and have a 4.0 GPA. I took three honors courses freshman year along with a few recreational classes and one academic class. I took two honors and two academic classes sophomore year and some recreational classes. Junior year I took chemistry, AP biology, trigonometry, honors english, and a few recreational courses. I’m currently taking a psychology course at a nearby community college, english 12, differential calculus, yearbook, and AP statistics. I also will be taking a math course at the community college in the spring. I passed all my keystones the first time I took them. My class rank is 67/249. I’m currently in the top 26% of my class. I took my SAT’s the first time on June 6th and didn’t study for them, so got a 1410. I’m retaking them October third, and maybe another in November. Freshman and Sophomore year I managed the girls basketball team for my high school, and I plan on managing again during senior year. I’m also in yearbook club. My friend and I started/founded a club at our high school called APAC which tries and raise money for local shelters, and volunteer for them. Two things that could have impacted my performances grade wise was the passing of my grandfather during the winter of my freshman year, and finding out I was very anemic during my junior year, which I was told could account for the distraction during class. During freshman and sophomore year I took care of my neighbors dogs everyday after school. So what are my chances at these four colleges?
Also to add to it, I participated in a winter field hockey team sophomore year along with two field hockey tournaments. And I made a very good(like nation winning) field hockey travel club team junior year, however due to scheduling problems at the time I couldn’t join.
A 1410/2400 and a 4.0 GPA says that your high school has extreme grade inflation. The SAT has to increase, or look at test optional schools.
I’m 100% sure my SAT score will go up, one because I’ve already taken and two because I actually studied this time. Just for reference though, what would be a good SAT score to have?
For the schools you listed a minimum of 1750, 1900 would be better since you are OOS for all of them.
