I’m currently a senior in an extremely competitive high school in New Jersey. My top schools are StonyBrook University, Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute, Northeastern University, Boston University, (kinda in order).
My plan is to get on the pre-med track to apply to med-School after my bachelors and specialize in genetics. Plan B is chemical engineering.
My cumulative unweighted GPA is a 3.38 and weighted is 4.9. For all my years of high school I’ve taken the maximum amount of APs possible that my school offers me. (im hoping colleges notice that I challenged myself in higher classes)
My superscore SAT is 1530 and I have yet to take my subject SATS (Math 2 and Chemistry) next week. My AP scores are 4 on APUSH and Lang/Comp and 5 on WHAP. I was also awarded a commended student for my PSAT score.
My extracurriculars are probably my strongsuit: I serve as a NJ state officer in the leadership organization I’m in as well as the chapter Vice President of the same organization. I’ve been in it since freshman year and have won 4 total gold medals in competition.
I am a facilitator in my school’s leadership program that helps underclassmen transition into high school. I am a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. This year I coordinated a youth chapter of the Toastmasters program in the local community center. I’ve played the piano for 6 years and sung classical indian music for 11 years. I also have about 100 hours of community service. I held a tutoring job for a few months during my sophomore year, and currently have had a tutoring job since last month for 1.5 hours 3 days a week as well as smaller tutoring positions on the side.
I plan to get my Guidance Counselor rec, a rec from the advisor of the organization I mentioned, and a rec from my chemistry teacher. I’m a good writer, and I would say my essay is going pretty well.
I know my GPA is terrible but I hope colleges can sort of understand considering the level of classes I’ve taken. And idk if I forgot anything else but yeah what exactly are my chances of getting into my list of colleges? Brutal honesty please.
