Chances of Getting into Tufts

<p>I recently visited Tufts and I'm pretty positive that I'll apply there (probably ED)..I'm a junior and I think my major would be International Relations</p>

<p>GPA: 96.7 (My school doesn't give it on a 4.0 scale)</p>

<p>SAT I: 1930; SAT IIs: 580 (Spanish) 580 (Biology)...yea, I'm not the best at standardized tests...I'm hoping my resume will make up for this </p>

<p>Class Rank: 10/190</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars/Activities/Etc:
-4 year, three sport varsity athlete (Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track)
-2 year captain of Cross Country
-Conference All-Star in Indoor Track 2011
-Awarded "Unsung Hero" and "Coaches' Award" in Cross Country
-4 year member of Student Council (Class officer all 4 years)
-National Honor Society
-2 year member of Concert/Marching/Jazz Band
-Lifeguard Certified and current working lifeguard
-Member of Rotary Youth Leadership Symposium
-Attended School's leadership seminar in 10th grade</p>

<p>Academic Awards:
-Outstanding Achievement in Algebra I (2009)
-Bronze Medal in National Spanish Exam (2009)
-Silver Medal in National Spanish Exam (2010)
-Certificate of Honor in National Spanish Exam (2011)</p>

<p>Community Service:
-Stockings for Iraq Soldiers (2008)
With my church we stuffed christmas stockings for the soldiers (a care package) and sent it to them
-Volunteered at "My Brothers' Table"
-Christmas volunteer at Jesmond Nursing Home
-Volunteered and made posters for children at North Shore Children's Hospital with my church
-Volunteered and made easter baskets for Catholic Charities with my church
-Volunteer Counselor at a day camp during the summer of 2010
-Volunteered and participated in "The Famine" (for 30 hours I fasted with a group from my church and during these 30 hours my group went into the inner-city and gave out food and clothing to homeless people)</p>

<p>if you write some stellar essays that convey a “tuftsy” personality and show that you’re a fit for the school you should be in tippity-top shape. Tufts looks at more than just test scores. Good luck! I would definitely recommend ED and an interview if you’re good at that sort of thing.</p>

<p>Tufts doesn’t just look at test scores, but your SAT scores put you in the lowest quartile among accepted Tufts students. I would highly advise retaking.</p>

<p>I’d have to agree with TuftsStudent rather than transferoutpls. The SATI score is low for Tufts, and the SAT Subject Test scores are, unfortunately, awful by Tufts standards. Regrettably, I think that the 580 in the Spanish Subject Test takes away the luster from the three academic awards in Spanish.
