Chances of getting into UF, FSU, Texas A&M, UW-Madison?

Hello I am a high school senior and was wondering my chances of getting into UF, Texas a&m, FSU, UW-Madison for civil engineering?

My gpa is a 3.3 with a 1850 sat (retaking in November). I only have 1 Ap under my belt (lang. And comp) as my school doesn't have many. My school is a CTE school with engineering as my major. I have volunteered at boys and girls clubs, and recently finished an summer internship for civil engineering at cooper union here in nyc.

Let me know how I stack up. Thanks

For UF it’s a toss-up because your GPA is very low and you do not have much course rigor (only 1 AP). Your SAT is also below average. With holistic admissions, your essay and ECs may save you. Also, UF does not consider your intended major for freshmen admissions. Good luck.

If I were to bring my sat up to a 1900+, would that make much difference? Also how do I stack up for the other schools mentioned? Also I’m taking the ACT in November.

See the following link for UF’s 2013 Freshman profile:

Uf uses a weighted GPA; +0.5 for honor classes, +1.0 for AP/DE/IB/AICE classes. Getting your SAT up to 1950 would help a bunch, but your GPA still makes UF a reach.

FSU is a bit less selective that UF. The academic profile of the middle 50% of freshmen accepted in 2013 was: 3.9-4.7 weighted GPA; 26-30 ACT composite; 1730-1960 SAT total. FSU also accepts a bit more OOS students, vs UF.

FSU’s engineering department is ran as a partnership with FAMU. The College’s slogan is, “Two Universities, One College, Twice the Opportunities.” Attending FAMU would gain you the same access to the college, as an FSU student.
