Hi, I’m currently a senior in high school who has applied to U of I. I am currently worried if I will be admitted to this school as it is my #1 pick. I’ve applied to the division of General study as I want to explore my options and I have also picked kinesiology as a second choice major.
I have an act score of 26 and I cannot bring it up. In addition, I have a GPA of about a 4.5 (weighted on a 5.0 scale) and have maintained around a 4.5 all of my years in high school.
I have taken a variety of classes mostly all honors and a few AP classes such as AP English and World History. I have taken honors classes in English, foreign language, one math class, history, and science. Currently, I am taking a college course Honors Anatomy & Physiology and I’m doing great. As for my grades, I’ve maintained all A’s with maybe one or two B’s all together.
In addition to school, I’ve particpated in many clubs and sports such as French Club, Baking club, student government, lacrosse, and volleyball. I’m also a member of NHS and the Vice President of French Honors Society. I have a lot of volunteer service hours and have even worked as a lifeguard.
With all of this, would I maybe have a good chance of getting into my dream college.
Sounds like your unweighted GPA is close to 4.0? If so, I’d say DGS is a good target major and you have a very reasonable chance for admission from what you posted, good luck!
