What do you think my chances are of getting into UVA for the spring 2018 semester? I’ve currently completed 27 credits at a local VA community college and am going to be taking 15 credits in the fall.
I recently transferred to UVA for this upcoming fall after one year at mason. It’s kind of tough to say. I had a 3.8 at Mason after one semester, and I sent in like a 3.6ish for my mid term grades, but I also had a decent sat score(1350 old sat) and took a lot of aps in hs. Obviously hs matters less the longer you’re in college, but without that info it is a bit harder to say. As well, transferring in the spring is much more limited than transferring in the fall, which will definitely be against you. Obviously a 3.88 after a year is really excellent, especially if you took semi challenging courses. I literally didn’t put any ecs on my transfer application so idk how much they look at those kinds of things, but they definitely won’t hurt you. If you could provide a few more details I’m sure it’d be easier to say. With that said, take everything with a grain of salt. I put my stats on cc and while I got a variety of answers, some were adamant that I wasn’t going to get in while others said I could. It really is kind of a shot in the dark anytime you’re applying to a school like UVA.
